| This weekend will feature not one but
two rounds of Australia's prestigious World Series Sprintcars with Round 2 of the series being run tonight and
Round 3 of the series being run tomorrow night. Defending Wanless World Series Sprintcar Series Champion and current Australian Sprintcar Champion Brooke Tatnell can't wait to return to the Perth Motorplex in his WA based Shane Krikke owned Toyota Genuine Parts Cool. Tatnell US form this summer is getting better with every race and it is this form that is sure to give him a head start on his rivals. Australian Speedway legend Max Dumesny in the Valvoline # 5 loves the highbanks of the Motorplex as has been shown every year he competes in the King
of Wings event and will be keen to register a victory for his Perth based sponsors GKR Transport.Wanless World Series Sprintcars action man Robert Farr will be back on track for an allout assault on Perth Motorplex in the East Coast Pipeline Racing Sprintcar. Farr will be race fit and ready after a successful stint racing in California this past winter. Last summers Kalgoorlie round winner Peter Lack will once again head west in his Willcott Seeds JEI for another attack on the national circuit. Lack is a multiple Australian Modified Sedan Champion and has shown some excellent speed in the winged monsters. South Australia is well represented this summer with multiple SA Champion Trevor Green racing the Adrad sponsored number 4 along with fellow crow eater Ricky Maiolo in the family owned number 24. Both these drivers could cause an upset this week end. Some breaking news for this weekends Wanless Environmental Serices sponsored event is that twenty three year-old Sydney sensation Ian Loudoun is the latest driver to commit to the western swing of World Series Sprintcars this Friday and Saturday night. Loudoun is the 2007-08 Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway track championship and makes his first trip to the Perth Motorplex. Loudon will step into the #5 machine normally driven by David Hall who has a wedding to attend, so Team principal Brian Hall of Albany's Hall Transport fame then offered the prize drive of the one of the well-presented Hall cars. He will be teamed up with Greg Hall in the #4 machine. Loudoun’s signing to the Perth rounds adds more credibility to the deal that will also feature American Brian 'Blackjack' Brown. Brown will be driving the #15 machine owned by Esperance farmer Greg Fisher. The 30-year-old hails from Higginsville in the USA and heads Down Under for the quick tour after a pretty impressive American season. This included one major win in 410ci racing and eight in 360ci racing. During the season Brown finished in the top five 32 times and claimed 43 top 10 results. In his career he has 76 main event wins. In the 2007 season he was the Knoxville 410ci points champion which is also no easy deal. Brown won the Hard Charger award at the 2007 Superclean Knoxville Nationals in a season where he won 15 feature wins. WA's best drivers can't wait to do battle with the Perth invaders including Watsons Express Transport Perth Motorplex Track Champion Jamie Maiolo, 3 times WA Champion Ryan Farrell, AHG Champion Ben Ellement, Luch Monte, David Priolo, Shaun Bradford, Allan Nash, David Ellement and many more. With large field of some of the best Sprintcar drivers locked in battle - the Perth Motorplex is the place to be this Friday and Saturday night. Both night will have a full supporting program of the Awesome Late Models, Wild and Wingless Speedcars and AJC All Colour Painting Group Formula 500's. |
