GLENN Carstairs started and finished Saturday night’s round of the AJ Cochrane and Sons Formula 500s at the Perth Motorplex in fine fashion.

On a very fast race track the driver of the #49 machine won the first race of the night from Troy Johnson and Andrew Priolo.

He was then fourth in his next heat that was enough to start him from P2 in the feature race that he won from Johnson and Tom Hooper.

There was little between the front runners at the completion of 15 laps with Johnson only 0.103 of a second off the lead.

It was another solid night for Johnson as well.

After finishing second to Carstairs in race one he was then second to Mark House in race two that gave him pole position.

Hooper claimed a fourth and then a third in his heat races.

Luke Nardini was the other winner on the night, taking race three from Priolo.
