The WA Drag Racing Grand Finals saw numerous Personal Best performances from all categories in what was a festival of speed to close out the WA Drag Racing Championship Season.
Given the Track Records had been copping a hammering all season long to reset 14 at the finale made the performances even more staggering!
Todd Stacy switched the EFI Fuel Injection over to their home grown Mechanical Fuel Injection system and slotted the potent Mazda into RR/Gas for a shot at the Championship. This proved to be a great move resulting in an event win that also gave them the Championship while resetting both ends of the RR/Gas Track Records at a stella 7.222 seconds and 304.01 km/h (188.90mph).
Graeme Simms spent most of the season laid up while recovering from shoulder surgery but it obviously didn’t stop him from getting into the shed to work on ringing some more power out the Supra’s small block Chev and it paid off with the new F/Gas marks of 8.910 seconds and 241.97 km/h (150.25mph).
Jamie Chaisty was peddling the family’s Commodore again this event and the team pulled out all stops to try and get into the 8 second zone. They only just missed it but still reset the H/MSA record to 9.032 seconds @ 238.55 km/h (148.22 mph).
Troy Thompson realised his goal at the Westernationals when he put his turboed Suzuki into the 7 second zone and then came back at this event and smashed his own Track Record with an awesome 7.760 second pass at 291.14 km/h (180.90 mph)
Ross Smith dominated Competition Bike on his Suzuki this season and left to the Grand Final to reset both the ET and Speed B/AB Track Records to 8.072 seconds and 262.39 km/h (163.04mph).
Michael Holister set the BB/AB ET record into the sevens at the WA Nitro Event a few weeks ago and this event he upped the speed record to 282.68 km/h (175.65mph)
Ross Townson in another of our Competition Bike racers that have been attacking the Track Record for BB/CBN on his Nitrous Kawasaki all season long and took the Speed Record a little higher to 281.48 km/h (174.90mph)
Daniel Natalotto has been ringing the neck of his Ninja ZX6R all season and ran a Personal Best on nearly every run, finally resetting his D/MB Records to 10.077 seconds at an impressive 220.63 km/h (137.09mph)
