The Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA) and Perth Motorplex would like to announce that the 2021 Australian Sprintcar Championship has been re-scheduled to 2022.
The 59th edition of the prestigious event will now be contested at Perth Motorplex on February 11 & 12, 2022.
The Motorplex venue have worked closely with the SCCA board to deliver a strong outcome for the Nation’s most coveted Speedway Title.
The run-up is tantalising for travelling drivers and fans, as it will serve as the perfect companion to the World Series Sprintcars Grand Final scheduled the following week – February 18 & 19, 2022.
“We think in the rollercoaster year that is 2020, this is the best outcome for everyone,” explained SCCA President, Kathy Kelly.
“This announcement has been in the best interest of competitors scattered around the country and also for people currently in Victoria and NSW in Particular… in giving everyone the best opportunity to attend a really special Australian Sprintcar Title.”
“Perth Motorplex is a state-of-the-art Speedway venue and considering the limited scheduling for states to host the title, we wanted to give the Motorplex every opportunity to deliver a successful and viable Championship.”
Perth Motorplex previously conducted the Australian Sprintcar Championship in 2009, in front of record crowds for the venue and many expect a similar, or better result in 2022.
Perth Motorplex appreciates the support of Kathy Kelly, the team from the SCCA and the respective State Member Clubs.
