When it comes to travelling long distances to go racing, there are plenty of drivers doing that on a regular basis across WA each summer.
Kalgoorlie’s Ray Leonard is one of those and this Saturday night he will again be at the Perth Motorplex, contesting the third round of the Make Smoking History 360 Sprintcar Power Series.
More importantly this round is the WA 360 Sprintcar Championship.
Leonard recently traveled to Pithara for the wash-out round before returning to the Motorplex last weekend.
In last weekend’s show he was second in his first heat and backed this up with an eighth in the next round of qualifiers.
He was unable to get through a busy pack in the 20-lap final where he settled for ninth.
This Saturday night Leonard will be looking for a better start from the outset, setting himself up for a good start in the 30-lap final.
With a good field locked in – make sure you are trackside this Saturday night.
