This Saturday night as part of the Scardifield Smash Repairs King of Wings a stacked field Limited Sprintcars will be racing in memory of Merv Woolford.
Merv was a long time Limited Sprintcar competitor, always putting in a solid effort each time he hit the track.
He loved the Motorplex, it was his favourite track and owns three feature race wins here at the venue, including a victory in the inaugural Limited Sprintcars King of Kwinana event, as well as coming third in a Track Championship here.
It is for these reasons that this weekend the Limited Sprintcars will honour him with the Merv Woolford Memorial, which will be held on Saturday night and doubles as round 2 of the Limited Sprintcar Association 2020/21 Club Championship.
A stacked field of 25 cars have entered for the event, including former winners Marshall McDiarmid who is a 2-time winner, and Michael Keen who is the reigning King of Kwinana for Limited Sprintcars.
Although Keen’s results seem dominant at the Perth Motorplex, there are plenty of drivers looking to bring it to Keen, with names like Jamie Landrigan, Mat Borgas, Craig Bottrell and Tim King in the field, the event will be hotly contested.
Limited Sprintcars will race in four heats on Saturday night and finish with the twenty lap Merv Woolford Memorial feature. All races will also count towards the Perth Motorplex Track Championship!
