IF you thought the sprintcar action was over for the 2014-15 Perth Motorplex Speedway season, then think again.
This Sunday night there will be plenty of motortainment in both the TW Mechanical 360 Sprintcars and the Limited Sprintcars in the penultimate round of the FAST Racing series.
One of the interesting nominations in the 360 classis is that of Luch Monte.
It’s been a few years since the market gardener from Wanneroo has had a drive in one of his cars, opting instead to hire professionals to drive for the high-profile Milwaukee-backed team.
Most recently Californian Kyle Hirst has been behind the wheel of the team’s inventory as they have contested headline events around the nation.
Monte slid back behind the steering wheel of one of his cars at a practice session just over a week ago and looked very strong.
He will be up against Lee Nash, Robert Watson junior and Jason Pryde who have all contested major 410ci sprintcar races this season and will be no doubt be using Sunday’s showdown as a testing session for the 2015-16 season.
The field will also include Stephen Adley, Daniel Salter, Ian Dhu, Dean Terry (who once again will be making the long haul from Kalgoorlie), Ben Van Ryt and youngster Mitchell Wormall who made his sprintcar debut last weekend (making the transition from Wingless Sprints.
But wait…there’s more.
A good field of Limited Sprintcars will also be in the house with the rivalry between Ben Migro and Marshall McDiarmid set to be renewed.
Jason Jones and Daryl Borgas will be making their way up from Narrogin to take on others such as Brad Cox, former Formula 500 champion Brad Chapman, Karl Magerl, Kevan Grant and Anthony Dye.
Harris Engines Wingless Sprints, Production Sedans, Southside Engine Centre Street Stocks and a handful of Super 6 Sedans and Formula 500s will also be part of the program this SUNDAY night.
