LUCH Monte will be one of the drivers to watch when the TW Mechanical 360 Sprintcars hit the track for the final round of the FAST Racing Series here at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday night.
Monte has many years of sprintcar racing under his belt, having cut his teeth against some of the biggest names in the sport at the former Claremont Speedway, firstly in a 360ci powered car and then in an open-class machine.
Up until a few years ago he was rated as one of the best on the WA circuit before his racing took a back seat and he fielded cars for American drivers Shane Stewart and Kyle Hirst.
A couple of weeks ago Monte returned to the racing seat, driving a 360ci car in the penultimate round of the 360 track championship.
On that occasion he was third in the final to Robert Watson junior and Dean Terry.
In the lead up to the final Monte claimed two heat race wins and was second in the third and final race to Watson junior.
Both are set to lock horns again this weekend.
Adding a bit of spice to the field will be the appearance of current WA open-class champion Jason Kendrick who is believed to be testing a new car for the 2015-16 season.
So far 33 drivers have raced in the track championship with Jake Beard-Miller taking victory on an impressive six occasions while Robert Watson has won twice and Aldo De Paoli the only other victor.
Supporting the TW Mechanical 360 Sprintcars will also be a good field of Late Models, Limited Sprintcars, Harris Engines Wingless Sprints, AJ Cochrane & Sons Master Painters Formula 500s, Ellement Produce Junior Sedans, Production Sedans, Southside Engine Centre Street Stocks, Super 6 Sedans, V8 Dirt Modifieds and Speedcars.
Book your tickets HERE and we will see you trackside this Saturday night.
