Commitment to Venue Improvements
As of today – 1 July 2016, VenuesWest commenced the interim management of the Perth Motorplex, following the decision by Kwinana Motorplex Propriety Limited to withdraw from management of the venue.
“It is our intention to ensure that as interim operator of the venue, the Perth motorsports community can continue to compete in and enjoy their racing at our world class motorsports facility,” said VenuesWest CEO David Etherton.
“As such, it is with great pleasure that I welcome Gavin Migro, Speedway Racing Manager, and Rod Britton, Drag Racing Manager to VenuesWest. Both of which bring with them a wealth of expertise and knowledge in motorsport which we will benefit from greatly”.
“I am also very grateful to Mr Kevin Prendergast, current General Manager who has agreed to assist in the transition process for the next few months, along with the rest of the team”.
Kevin Prendergast has ably led the Perth Motorplex operations since 2003 and has overseen much change and improvement in Western Australian motorsport and the industry. His commitment, hard work and enthusiasm delivered an incredibly successful venue and his contribution to circuit management, motorsport safety, event development and promotion position the venue well for the future.
As part of the transition process, we will be advertising for the position of General Manager Perth Motorplex in the next week and will commence recruitment of other roles in due course.
