The major changes to the 2023-24 Season calendar are highlighted by some date changes to the final few events in the season, and some recent announcements to clarify the speedway special events in February 2024.
Event Date Changes
Perth Motorplex has made some changes to the final few events on the season calendar to prevent potential date clashes with interstate venues and other major events.
The changes will see events change in March and April 2024; and the cancellation of the Powerpalooza VIII Grand Finale originally scheduled for April 13, 2024.
As a result, 4 events on the calendar have now changed dates:
- [Speedway] Silver Cup + WA Speedcar Title – Saturday March 16, 2024
- [Drag Racing] Nitro Slam – Saturday March 23, 2024
- [Speedway] Grand Final – Saturday April 6, 2024
- [Drag Racing] Nitro Max East v West Ft. AONFC – Saturday April 13, 2024

Festival of Sprintcars
Speedway fans rejoice! With the first 2 weeks of February now confirmed as the ‘Festival of Sprintcars’ featuring 5 nights of racing with $160,000 in prize money for the best Sprintcar racers in the country.
The festival begins with the Barbagallo Australian Sprintcar Nationals held over 2 nights (February 9 & 10, 2024). Preliminary feature races will pay $5,000 to win, with a $30,000 to win Feature race on Saturday night. The Barbagallo Australian Sprintcar Nationals will be supported by Pro Sprintcars (Friday Only), The Opal Finance Johnny Anderson Formula 500 Classic, The Pool Shop Group Speedcars (Saturday Only) and FIREWORKS.
The spectacle continues in the midweek with the Midweek Sprintcar Mayhem on Valentines Day (Wednesday February 14, 2024). Supported by Opal Finance Formula 500’s and the Junior Formula 500’s.
Only 2 days later the ‘Plex will light up for the 27th Annual Krikke Boys Shootout (February 16 & 17, 2024) Paying $9,595 to Win and a total of $35,000 of prize money up for grabs over the 2 nights. The ‘Boys race’ will be supported by Limited Sprintcars, Opal Finance Formula 500’s (West Coast Series) and Late Models (Saturday Only).
The 2023-24 Perth Motorplex season gets started with Formula Tech Performance WhoopAss Wednesdays on September 6. Followed by The Nostalgias on September 24 and Burnout Boss 8 on October 14.
